Sending abroad from Ludhiana
Export shipping guide — plain English
A simple checklist before you book international courier or cargo. Bring these details and we'll help with the rest at our Transport Nagar office.
Invoice (list of what's inside)
Write each item, how many pieces, what it's made of, and a honest value. Customs needs this for gifts too — don't understate the value.
Your ID proof (KYC)
Bring PAN plus Aadhaar or passport. Carriers need this to confirm who is sending the parcel.
GST number (for business shipments)
If you ship as a business, share your GSTIN. We give a proper GST invoice on every booking.
IEC — export ID for businesses
Businesses sending commercial goods abroad need an Import Export Code (IEC). It's a free ID from India's trade department (DGFT). Personal gifts to family usually don't need it — ask us if you're unsure.
Receiver's full address & phone
Full name, street address, PIN/ZIP code, and a working phone number. Wrong PIN/ZIP codes cause long delays.
Strong packing & real size
Use strong cartons and pack tight. Couriers charge by scale weight or by box size — whichever is higher. A big empty box costs more than a small packed one.

Common questions about sending abroad
For business/commercial exports, yes — you need an IEC. Sending gifts or personal parcels to family usually does not need an IEC, but you still need an invoice and ID proof. Tell us what you're sending and we'll confirm.
A commercial invoice is for a real sale (buyer pays for goods). A proforma invoice is for samples, gifts, or a quote before the sale. Customs needs one of these with correct values — we help you fill it.
Usually the person receiving the parcel pays duty and tax in their country when it arrives. In some cases you can pay duty upfront (called duty-paid / DDP) — ask us if that option is available for your route.
Yes. Visit our Transport Nagar office or WhatsApp us. We walk you through the invoice, ID proof, and carrier requirements before you book — so clearance goes smoother.
