Weight vs box size
Couriers charge by the weight on a scale OR by the size of the box — whichever is higher. Formula for size-based weight: length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5000. A big light box costs more, so pack tight.
How far it's going
Nearby cities (Delhi, Chandigarh) usually cost less per kg than far metros or remote pin codes. Price depends on the carrier's zone for that destination.
How fast you need it
Express is fastest and costs more. Air is in the middle. Surface (road) cargo is usually cheapest for heavy boxes when you can wait a few more days.
Fuel charge & GST
Carriers add a fuel charge that moves with diesel prices, plus 18% GST on the invoice. We always give a GST invoice for business shipments.
Customs duty abroad
For overseas parcels, the destination country may charge import duty or tax — usually paid by the receiver. Correct item descriptions on the invoice help avoid holds.
